I Refused To Let Fear Decide My Future

I began practicing as a Future Division member in 2009 after my mother introduced me to Nichiren Buddhism.

At that time, I was emotionally fragile and struggling internally in ways I could not fully express.

My parents eventually divorced, and that period deeply affected me. I carried insecurity, confusion, and emotional pain for many years. But through the warmth of the Soka Gakkai, daimoku, and Sensei’s guidance, I slowly transformed.

Little by little, I developed self-belief.

I learned that my circumstances did not define my future.

Fighting For Young Bodhisattvas To Emerge

Between 2023 and 2024, I determined to create tremendous growth in my region.

I chanted earnestly for young bodhisattvas to emerge, took personal responsibility for strengthening unity among leaders and members, and challenged my own human revolution deeply.

The transformation was incredible.

Our YWD membership grew from just five members to 25 by July 2024.

When I was entrusted with the responsibility of YL Girls, fellow incharges and I united strongly and worked tirelessly to revive the division. That year, our area recorded the highest Young Lion attendance.

We also appointed three new YWD district chiefs, and two YWD chapter chiefs transferred into our region.

Watching youth emerge gave me immense joy.

Professional Growth — But Inner Stagnation

The causes I was creating in faith reflected in my professional life too.

After eight years, I transitioned into a completely new design discipline. I started handling three major projects and began thriving professionally.

But internally, I was unhappy.

I felt stuck.

I had become resentful toward my workplace and my manager.

That was when I came across Ikeda Sensei’s guidance:

“Instead of moaning over the fact that a job is different from what you’d like to be doing, become a first-class individual at that job.”

(Discussions on Youth, vol. 1)

Those words pierced my heart.

I realized the real issue was not my environment — it was my life condition.

Beginning My Human Revolution

I decided to transform my heart first.

I challenged myself to chant two hours of daimoku every morning before work.

I studied Sensei’s guidance daily and consciously tried to bring my Gakkai training into my professional life.

I completed studying two volumes of The New Human Revolution in just one month.

I proactively approached my manager for research-driven projects instead of waiting passively.

I also re-enrolled in a sociology and psychology degree course that I had abandoned years ago.

My life slowly began expanding again.

When Everything Started Falling Apart Again

In 2025, there was tremendous growth in our YWD organization.

We appointed six YWD leaders and five YL incharges across different zones.

At the same time, fresh personal challenges surfaced.

My mother decided to move back from Delhi to Mumbai.

As the sole provider, I became deeply anxious about finances.

Old insecurities resurfaced.

We began having heated arguments frequently.

Then suddenly, at work, I was placed on a Performance Improvement Plan because of restructuring and internal politics.

My appraisal and bonus were withheld.

I felt humiliated, fearful, and unstable.

Yet strangely, amidst all this chaos, I heard back from my dream company — where I had applied months earlier.

Transforming Fear Into Conviction

I realized I had to stop praying from fear.

I needed to pray from conviction.

I recentred my life completely around the Gohonzon and my mission.

I focused on encouraging YWD and YL members toward meetings, doing home visits, supporting successors, and increasing my daimoku to three hours daily.

Mystically, my former design manager appeared as shoten zenjin and mentored me through the interview process.

But the fear inside me still lingered.

The repeated delay in my PIP process triggered severe anxiety and panic attacks.

So I increased my daimoku to five hours daily.

Even after long commutes and exhausting workdays, I woke up every morning at 5:30 a.m. to chant.

I conducted study meetings with YWD members and met YL Girls one-on-one whenever possible.

My deputy YWD region chief and I visited 13 YWD members in just two weeks.

Slowly, something shifted inside me.

Desperation transformed into determination.

Fear transformed into courage.

The Victory Before The Defeat

Eventually, I cleared every interview round successfully.

And then, before my PIP process could officially begin, I received and accepted the offer from my dream company.

Every single prayer I had made — even the ones I had never spoken aloud — was answered.

Financial support also flowed into my life during the transition period between jobs, allowing me to support both myself and my mother peacefully.

For the first time, I truly felt:

I am protected.

Expanding My Prayer Beyond Myself

Toward the Future Division General Meeting, I immersed myself in supporting five zones, including one conducting the event for the very first time.

Then came another major breakthrough.

I was selected for the first YWD Training Course at Daiseido along with 38 other YWD members.

Before leaving for Japan, I determined to conduct 10 dialogues and accomplish two shakubukus.

As I challenged myself sincerely, my prayer expanded beyond my personal victories.

I conducted 11 dialogues and introduced my grandmother and her sister — both in their late 80s — to the practice. They now chant regularly.

At Daiseido, I made a deep vow to my mentor.

That struggle became my prime point with Sensei.

Actual Proof

After returning from Japan, I could clear nearly 60 percent of my long-standing debt.

My mother successfully shifted to Mumbai, and I have been able to support us financially.

At the same time, many members around me also began reporting victories:

Four YWD members experienced breakthroughs at work

Two overcame personal struggles

Two reported health victories

Two YL Girls entered their dream colleges

Watching others win brought me even greater joy than my own victories.

What I Learned

This entire journey taught me something profound:

Human revolution does not mean becoming fearless overnight.

It means choosing courage again and again despite fear.

Every panic attack became fuel for stronger daimoku.

Every obstacle became an opportunity to deepen my mission.

Every struggle became proof that the Mystic Law is alive within my life.

My Determination

Toward 2030, I determine to:

Expand my region’s YWD membership to 50

Raise 20 active YL Girls in every zone

Conduct 100 dialogues every year

Accomplish 10 shakubukus annually

Become debt-free

Build a harmonious family

And create a private kaikan filled with hope and joy

No matter what challenges appear in front of me, I now know that my life itself possesses the power to transform poison into medicine.
