Fighting For Justice Helped Me Discover My Mission

I have been practicing this life-empowering philosophy since I was a Cub.

Because I grew up in the warmth of the Soka Gakkai, I always believed that no challenge is greater than the power of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

Still, in 2024, my family encountered one of the toughest struggles of our lives.

Standing Up Against Injustice

My father, a respected school principal with an excellent professional record, was suddenly transferred to a remote location in Karnataka.

The transfer was clearly driven by personal bias from a senior official.

Watching such injustice unfold was deeply painful for our family.

At that time, Ikeda Sensei’s guidance became my anchor:

“I hope you will become a person who is willing, at the crucial moment, to stand up for truth and justice, regardless of personal cost.”

(WCHP-2, Human Revolution, 360)

Determined not to surrender to injustice, we challenged the transfer legally in the Delhi High Court.

What followed was a grueling legal battle that stretched across nine months.

Searching For My Own Mission

At the same time, I was struggling internally with another question:

What kind of career truly reflected my mission and values?

I wanted work that combined:

Creativity

Purpose

Meaningful social impact

I appeared for several interviews, but many opportunities felt limiting.

Even while facing uncertainty, I chose November 18th, 2024, as the day I would report complete victory to Ikeda Sensei.

Around this same period, I happened to meet the founder of an ed-tech startup.

Although no immediate opportunity emerged, I continued strengthening the three pillars of:

Faith

Practice

Study

I chanted sincerely to transform my life condition first.

Focusing On Encouraging Others

As a YWD Region Chief, I determined not to become consumed only by my personal problems.

Instead, I took complete responsibility for encouraging the YWD members around me.

I regularly conducted:

Home visits

Group study sessions

Dialogues with YWDs, SDs, FDs, and New Friends

I also introduced one of my close friends to the practice and connected her to her place of mission.

As an HDC, I supported my district wholeheartedly:

Attending every meeting

Chanting for members’ victories

Supporting WD leaders

Strengthening unity in the district

Gradually, momentum began building beautifully.

Youth started emerging.

Members reported joyful victories.

New leadership appointments happened naturally.

The November 18th Campaign culminated with my participation in the General Meeting, where I renewed my vow to my mentor deeply.

Strengthening The Youth Division

In January 2025, I attended the Area-Level Training Course and connected with my new district as HDC.

I also took joyful responsibility for supporting YWD members during Youth Sports Festival 3.0.

Then came the March 16th Campaign.

During this period, I challenged myself to:

Visit every YWD and FD member possible

Study Sensei’s guidance daily

Do alliance daimoku regularly

Pray sincerely for successors to emerge

I also made a determination to complete the YWD leadership structure in my unit by the end of 2025 so that every member receives consistent encouragement and nurturing.

A Landmark Victory

Meanwhile, my father’s legal case continued.

Then finally, in February 2025, after months of hearings, the Delhi High Court ruled in our favor.

The transfer was annulled completely.

But the victory was far bigger than our family alone.

The judgment became an important legal precedent protecting school staff from unjust and biased transfers in the future.

At that moment, I deeply understood that sincere prayer and courageous action can create value for society itself.

Discovering My True Career Path

After March 16th, I plunged into the May 3rd Campaign with renewed determination to strengthen my bond with Sensei.

I made fresh goals for:

Daimoku

Home visits

Study

Shakubuku

At the same time, more youth started emerging naturally in our unit through transfers and shakubuku.

The growth energized me tremendously.

Then, in March 2025, something unexpected happened.

The founder of the ed-tech startup I had met months earlier contacted me again.

This time, I was offered the role of:

Chief of Staff.

The role perfectly aligned with everything I had prayed for:

Vision

Strategy

Execution

Meaningful contribution

Every day in this role reminds me that work itself can become an expression of one’s mission.

Building A Venture Rooted In Compassion

During this same phase, my mother and I were also working quietly on another dream.

In May 2025, we officially launched our own initiative focused on:

Counseling

Special education

Psychological assessments

Our mission is to support individuals who are often misunderstood, emotionally isolated, or overlooked.

We want to help them embrace their uniqueness and live happily.

For me, this venture feels deeply connected to the spirit of Buddhism itself — helping people reveal their dignity and limitless potential.

Two Missions, One Vow

Today, I feel as though I am walking two parallel yet deeply connected paths:

Contributing meaningfully through my professional role

Building a compassionate social initiative with my mother

Both are rooted in the same vow:

To create value and advance kosen-rufu.

What I Learned

This journey taught me that genuine victory is never only personal.

Real victory:

Protects others

Creates hope

Develops courage

Strengthens compassion

Advances justice

I also learned that whenever I focused on encouraging others sincerely, my own life expanded naturally.

My Determination

With deepest gratitude to the Gohonzon, Nichiren Daishonin, Sensei, and my Gakkai family, I now determine to:

Raise many capable YWD and FD members

Strengthen my mentor-disciple bond

Advance kosen-rufu joyfully

Help build a BSG of one million youth long before 2030

No matter what challenges appear in the future, I vow to continue fighting, growing, and reporting victory after victory to my mentor.
